Mainsprings Replacement

Broken Spring is one of the most common problems for phonographs.  Phonographs that have broken springs can not play through a record, and sometimes you don’t even feel any resistance when you crank it.  The process includes taking out the broken spring, clean the spring barrel and install the new spring with lubrication.

Reproducer rebuild

Reproducer Rebuild

The rubber gaskets inside the reproducer would normally harden over the years and they need to be replaced.  If the diaphragm is damaged, it is necessary to replace with a new one.  Reproducer is the most important part of the sound reproducing.  A completely rebuilt reproducer will definitely provide a much better sound.

Motor Cleaning

Motor Cleaning

The grease used to lubricate the springs in the spring barrel or on the motor gear would get hardened and collect huge amount of dust over the years.  This process includes taking apart the motor, removing the springs from spring barrels, cleaning everything and applying grease or oil as lubrications after assembly.

Governor Repair

Governor Repair

The governor controls the speed of the phonograph.  The missing weights and broken springs on the governor will cause uneven speed and sometimes create loud noise or making phonograph unplayable.  For this service, we will replace a new set of weighs and springs.
